Description
Merkel 201E over/under shotgun in 12 gauge. 76cm (about 29 7/8") solid rib barrels with front and mid beads. 2 3/4" chambers. Choked Mod/Full. Tight lock-up of the action. English straight stock with an LOP of 15 1/4" to the leather pad (LOP to the wood is 14"). Deep relief Germanic game scenes. DOM July 1950
This is a wonderful, classic German field or sporting piece! No doubt this was carried and used its fair share but definitely not abused. Barrels are great for their age with shiny bores with faint streaking and only a small bit of freckling to the blue. No dings dents or major scratches to the barrels. Wood is solid with scattered handling marks and finish wear, shown in pics. Very small crack forming behind the top tang but there's no separation or movement.
